Formed in 2011, Advocates set out to make a name for themselves in the hardcore and metal scene, creating a sound fused with groovy riffs and crushing breakdowns. These elements, in combination with a highly energetic on-stage performance make sure this band draws crowds to every venue they perform at.
Previously from The Rest is Silence, drummer Simon Webby and guitarist David Smythe formed the band before recruiting Doni Moines on bass, Scotty War on Guitar and most recently Michael Coleman on Vocals.
Advocates are currently in the final stages of recording their debut EP ‘Mindless’ which will be released through We Are Triumphant Records in June.
The band has shared the stage with such bands as We Came as Romans, Northlane, A Plea for Purging, Dream on Dreamer and many more.
Advocates are a band to look out for in the future, with 2012 looking to be a big break for them, as they head towards being at the forefront of the New Zealand hardcore scene.
