Sleep for four hours after the gig in Jena at a hotel that looks like it should be part of Disney Land. Seven hour drive. North Sea Jazz Fest, Rotterdam. Our stage is comedic; we should be serving waffles from it. Dope crowd though. We see Roy Ayers with The Robert Glasper Experiment and Pete Rock (who Roy unfortunately introduces as Chris) “Give it up for our man Chris on the ones and twos…” Who? “Chris Rock!” It's surreal to have played here though – we've been listening to a desk recording of D'Angelo's band perform here in 2001 or thereabouts since EWH began.
