Lilou vs Cloud Martha Cooper

At New York's glittering Hammerstein Ballroom, French b-boy Lilou ran away with the Red Bull BC One crown for a second time – in more ways than one.

Lilou, congratulations! You’re the first B-Boy to win the Red Bull BC One twice. What does that mean to you?
Now I’m really part of breakdance history. No one has ever achieved what I did tonight. It’s an incredible feeling.

So it's a big day for French breakdance, huh?
Actually it’s a big day for Algeria! I got the belt again and our soccer team won against Egypt, so they’re qualified for the world championship 2010 in South Africa. One two three – viva L'algérie!

Before you got on stage I recognised that while the other dancers were warming up, you were sitting in the corner of the backstage room, scribbling on sheets of paper ...
I figured out a plan which move to show in which round. Because in the semi-finals for example there are three heats and I don’t wanna repeat myself.

What about your opponent in the final round, Cloud?
Cloud has a very good style, like dance of modern art. It was his first Red Bull BC One and he reached the final round! But I tried to stick to my game and succeeded.

Did you feel that the audience was on your side?
Not at all! I was so afraid because when I got on stage all the crowd was like: U-S-A! U-S-A! But that just gave me more power.

You didn’t give back the first belt you won. Even though it was planned to be a challenge cup. What about this time, will you return it after one year?
No chance!
