Two things Brazilians do better than most is playing football and throwing a party. Well, there’s one place where a football-induced carnival has been in full swing for two years now.

São Paulo based football club Red Bull Brasil picked up its second league title last weekend to continue their ascent of the league ladder.

It would be fair to say that even before the second leg of their Campeonato Paulista game with Ferroviária on Sunday the samba stars had one hand already on the trophy.

Seven days earlier Red Bull Brasil went to Ferroviária’s Arena Fonte Luminosa and recorded a 3-0 win. A brace from Henan and a strike from Hudson did the damage that day.

Despite being a former member of Brazil's top flight, Ferroviária knew they had their work cut out if they were going to overturn the 3-0 deficit at Red Bull Brasil’s Estádio Moisés Lucarelli.

Since the team’s birth in November 2007, Red Bull Brasil have only lost four times at home. Of the 89 professional games Red Bull Brasil have played they have only lost 18 and never have they been beaten by more than a single goal. Ferroviária needed four to win the championship.

The odds may have been stacked in Red Bull Brasil’s favour but head coach Márcio Fernandes was taking little for granted before the crucial second leg.

"Not every club has the chance to be champions twice in two years," he said.

“Winning would be a great honour but I have seen a lot during my time in football. This season we saw one of our rivals win an important game with a goal from their goalkeeper in the last minute.

“Nothing is won until the final whistle is blown.”

Red Bull Brasil once again played the attractive attacking football which has served them so well in their formative years. The hosts found the net three times thanks to a double from Alex Rafael and another courtesy of Willian Cesar.

Ferroviária also played their part in an entertaining encounter as they grabbed two goals meaning Red Bull Brasil won the match 6-2 on aggregate.

Expect to hear plenty more from Red Bull Brasil as they continue to shoot up the leagues faster than the Champagne corks popped at the Estádio Moisés Lucarelli this weekend.
