Almost 28 hours down, just one and a half to go... We are currently cruising at 40,000 ft, around 591 miles per hour somewhere over the black sea.. Enjoying the inflight wi-fi!! The lads have certainly utilised some of their downtime, taking opportunity for a few practice folds between power naps and movie watching, though the cabin roof height does not favor effective test flights. And we do wonder... If you throw a paper dart in a plane, and the plane is traveling at 591 mph, how far has the dart flown before it lands?
Small world that it is, one of our stewardesses once worked for Red Bull in NZ!! So the mars bars & etc treats have been flowing freely... We just found out too that the cabin crew had been briefed pre take off for this final leg that they had 4 members of a "Nz sports team" flying with them, guessing open as to what their sport was... Word is they might be Red Bull motocross riders....
The team has had a fantastic reception so far anyway... Incredibly frendily cabin staff have thrown a few darts with us and asked to pose for a few photographs, even inviting the team up into the cockpit for some 1-on-1 time with the pilots! Josh is working now on a bit of baileys-on-the-rocks-inspired graphic design work to adorn Richard's aerobatic entry.
The below photos are a taster only... these have been taken with my phone camera so not the best... Will break out the proper camera tomorrow. Looking forward to getting our feet back on the ground now, and heads into Paper Wings!
When we arrived in Sydney the pilots invited us up into the cockpit for a look around... If anyone knows how to fly long distances and times it is these guys!! The co pilot had also some experience acrobatic flying, though thankfully not on this trip...
