We’ve all had terrible jobs in our time, most of them to earn a few beer tokens as students. Even celebrities and star drivers in the World Rally Championship like Sébastien Ogier have had their fair share...

The role of sewer cleaner was recently voted as the worst job in the world on an American website – although I maintain that the summer I spent as an assistant gravedigger wasn't much better. Particularly on the day we uncovered a long-festering corpse.

Anyway, it would seem that Red Bull driver Sebastien Ogier – currently leading the pack at the Rallye de France Alsace – was somewhat luckier with his most detested job...

'I’ve never really had a job I hated, probably because I could never be bothered to do it. But I’d definitely describe my worst job as being at school – particularly when we used to have classes on a Saturday morning, which is quite common in France.

My worst subjects were definitely Philosophy and French, which was never a great way to start your weekend. Unfortunately, I never had any choice in the matter. I wouldn’t say that I had a least favourite philosopher – I hated them all.

I didn’t really like English either, just because I wasn’t very good at it. I regret that now as it's turned out to be quite useful in my career. But when it comes to jobs, the worst one was Saturday morning school for sure.

Luckily, I don’t think it’s something I’ll ever have to live through again, apart from in my nightmares…'
