Meghan Geliza, aka SisterDarling, is a Pop Surrealist painter based in Auckland. Her art is hugely influenced by 19th century literature, old animation, and films by Studio Ghibli, all of which she grew up on. She's also constantly inspired by street art, tattoos, people, places, life.
She's exhibited last December '09 and March '10 in Auckland's art event First Thursdays, and has exhibited in various group shows around Auckland and Wellington. After participating as an artist she's recently been elected as one of the organisers of First Thursdays, as well as an Emerging artist mini-forum that happens monthly in a gallery in Auckland.
She's recently painted a mural for a community centre in Henderson and a limited edition deck for a skateshop in Kroad. She works with colours intuitively and loves the process of seeing colours meld organically to convey certain ideas & emotions.
