Tires of Fire Auckland Results Are In!

Due to the light drizzle that was falling most of the day there wasn't much smoke at Tires of Fire in Auckland on the weekend, but the rain couldn't stop some serious skidding. The road was nice and slick and the riders took alot of effort to keep the bikes locked in a straight line as they shredded some rubber repeatedly down Beaumont St.

After the warm up session where all riders had a chance to rip up some tar seal, Ken White and Max Hampton were clearly battling each other for the longest distance with Conrad Smith close behind. Jenna Makgill one of the two female competitors was also there giving it a skid, along with Tabitha Langford who was showing as a stong contender with some decent long skids.

Jeff Whiteford and Mike Lawrence were there representing, even MC of the event Jay Reeve ripped a couple down the track but it was Ken White who showed his superhuman skill with his supreme body positioning right over the front of the bike. Ken glided into first place with a huge margin, skidding a huge distance of 185m.

Max was in second place with 148m, and Conrad placed third with 121m. The BMX riders headed up by Mike Davies couldn't get the distance of the fixed gear bikes but still skidded up a storm.

An awesome fun day for all involved, the fixed gear scene is alive and well in Auckland and is skidding up a storm and looking forward to the next Tires of Fire
