There can be only ONE!

Red Bull One Truck Wonders came to Wellington on April 3 to see what the local street skaters had to offer in this unique contest of skill and balance.

The format is essentially a jam session where all tricks have to be executed into and out of a wheelie - that is balancing on two wheels (and one truck). The event runs over two hours with the last 40 minutes being the final where tricks count. The best five tricks earn a skater a crisp $100 bill for their efforts and the winner is also flown up to Auckland to compete in the final event at Britomart on May 8.After an hour of solid sessioning the top skaters started throwing down the bangers. James McInnes showed some intricate flippery with a pressure flip manual but didn't quite make the top 5 cut. Joseph Whanga also just missed the cut with a nollie bigspin manual to revert. Conan from DVS got a prize for his nollie inward heelflip to manual, as did Matt Hosey for a switch frontside flip to manual to revert.Lee Corlison took some cash for his fakie backside flip to manual. Rueben Silver and Bennet Field tore it up but just couldn't stomp their manny tricks in this competition. Ultimately though, it was Matt Kinsman who proved to be the overall winner. Matt had in his possession a huge array of tricks including four which put him in the winning spot - including a 360 flip to manual and half cab flip manual.
