In August 2007 New Zealand BASE jumpers Chuck Berry and Paul Morton joined 100 jumpers from all over the world for the Menara KL Tower International BASE jump event in Malaysia.

The challenge? To BASE jump continuously from the 421 metre high KL Tower - the fourth highest tower in the world.

“Teaming up with Miles Daisher from the US Red Bull Airforce was sensational,” said Chuck.

“We started doing basic jumps to get a feel for the area and get used to the tight landing areas, and then began pushing the envelope by coordinating jumps with multiple people doing acrobatics - hanging from roof tops by our fingers while Miles did a handstand over the top!

"Another time we successfully got Miles standing on my shoulders and I launched into thin air in that position and flew the 'Totem Pole' until opening time,” described Chuck.

Chuck and Miles both took part in the final demonstration jump held for representative government VIPs. For this finale they chose a ‘Mr Bill’ jump, which involves both jumpers taking the leap together. One jumper opens his chute while the other hangs on for awhile and then opens himself.

Miles Daisher completed his 2000th BASE jump at the KL Tower event.
