Pedrosa Australia Gold & Goose

With the Valencia Grand Prix in his rear-view, Dani Pedrosa is finally able to look back at a season which has brought its fare share of tragedy, heartbreak and triumphs...

As we all fully expected, the past weekend at Valencia was very special. Not only because I got to race on one of my favourite tracks but also because it was the first grand prix after the tragic events in Malaysia and the death of Marco [Simoncelli].

The race saw me getting into a good fight with [Andrea] Dovizioso in the first half of the race. He's a tough driver and he proved to be a real challenge.

It has not been the great season that we all hoped for in terms of results but we will use what we've learned to improve ahead of the next season. For me this year, the championship started quite well, with good racing and a win in Portugal, but the fall in France caused us to break the line and we were unable to regain momentum for the rest of the championship.

Being forced to miss out on four Grand Prixs, especially with Casey [Stoner] in such great form, was difficult to deal with. From the Italian Grand Prix onwards, we really fought to win in every GP, and now the season has come to an end we can take stock of our errors and try to get it right next year.

Tomorrow and Wednesday, we'll be testing with the 1,000 and will make the most of our time to further improve and adapt to the bike ahead of next year.

Before signing off, I would like to thank all my fans for the support you have given me this season. I also want to congratulate the entire team and my colleagues for all their help, love and hard work.

Regards

Dani
