- About this Image
- It’s a massive piece of rock rising majestically out of the Brazilian Minas Gerais valleys, with vertical walls hundreds of metres high. Even the most experienced climbers thought it impossible to climb, but Stefan Glowacz proved them wrong in July, achieving the first ever successful ascent, together with Holger Heuber, Edemilson Padiha, Horacio Gratton and the photographer Klaus Fengler. Ever positive, the team named their challenging route ‘The Place of Happiness’.
