- Red Bull’s Cole Whitt used a three-wide move coming to the checkered flag to salvage a 12th-place finish in Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. In Turn One Racing’s No. 60, Whitt had a strong weekend despite a pit stop that put the second-year NASCAR driver behind just past the 50-laps-to-go mark. Whitt entered the pits under the race’s fourth yellow running fourth. He left, however, in 11th and fought traffic and turbulent air the rest of the way. “The main thing - we beat ourselves. We beat ourselves at Darlington. We beat ourselves here, too,” Whitt said. “We need to clean it up a bit.” Whitt currently ranks fifth in the drivers’ standings - 12 points behind leader Johnny Sauter entering another race on concrete, May 13 at Dover.
