Dear Times Waste's Details
About Dear Times Waste
An exercise in earthbound alienation, the debut album from Dear Time's Waste is entitled Spells. It casts shapes in the shadows of film music, with a healthy appetite for Lynch and the Spaghetti Western hauntings of Ennio Morricone.
Drawing from the water coloured wash of 2009's reputed EP Room for Rent, Dear Time's Waste takes a side step towards a soundtrack embedded with a multitude of voices, oscillating between a raw whisper and an Elvis impersonation; a suburban street and a
spot-lit stage. Private moments are shattered by clatters of bells, as harsh light disguises a familiar face.
A live act charged with a formidable intensity and a quiet charm, Dear Time's Waste has played alongside Deerhunter, Woelv, Connan Mockasin and Cut Off Your Hands among others. A Dear Time's Waste performance is invested with a gauzed tension, slipping from layered post-rock into clean guitar pop with barely a word.
Following the lilting chorus of first single Blue & Gold comes These Words Stick Me To You, a crisp and brief pop jangle frosted with a layer of tongue-in-cheek lyrics highlighting the woes of long distance love.
